After being out of school for 40 years, in the Fall of 2024 I decided it was time to upgrade my education.  Here is my story. My journey started on September 19th when I meet with the Executive Director at BSLN to discuss the program and plans for moving forward. On September 23rd, I meet with my instructor, where I completed assessments to determine where I would start in the program. I remember my first day of school, I was nervous and excited at the same time.  

The classroom environment was great it allowed me to work at my own pace. Each day, my instructor and I would discuss what I was working on and outline a plan for the day. The instructor was very supportive and was always willing to discuss and review topics that I needed assistance with at any time during the day. The instructor provided me with practice tests to ensure I was prepared for each test. I cannot say enough about my instructor, he is truly passionate about his job and is a great teacher.  

Fast forward 6 months, I have completed and passed the CAEC program.  Now that I have my "Nova Scotia High School Equivalency Certificate", this will allow me to apply for employment that I could not have previously applied due to my education. In closing, I want to thank my instructor for all his support during my journey, I couldn't have done it without you!

I am a proud graduate of the CAEC program, and I would highly recommend and encourage anyone who is looking to upgrade their learning  reach out to BSLN.
